Expose, Express, Exchange

Story by John Sarvay

On April 7, 8 and 9 Steve’s House, a Richmond-based organization dedicated to performance and movement arts, will present “ExposeExpressExchange.” Richmond artists and community workers will be gather for what can be described only as potential chaos. After all, what else could you expect from a night of performance and discussion that features Bio Ritmo, the Richmond police and artist Cathy Paine? Cops doing salsa? Worse yet, cops bodypainting dancers?

The festivities begin each night at 7:30 p.m. at the Richmond YWCA at 6 North 5th Street. In the enlightened spirit of the day, child care will be provided. There is a suggested donation of $5.

Each evening’s gathering will begin with performances by artists, followed by discussion of the performances. There also will be recognition of some of Richmond’s community workers and volunteers.
